Currently John is in the mixing stage of his 7th album. The upcoming album is being recorded on a 24 track 2 inch tape machine by Tom Herbers at Third Ear Recording Studio in Minneapolis (Samples can be heard at www.myspace.com/minneapolismusic). The new album is diversely arranged with orchestration including string players from the Minnesota Chamber Orchestra (backing a live studio performance of "A Message with Perspective" by John Snell, Jeremy Ylvisaker and Peter Anderson). Three songs on the new album have live HORNS(!). John is also getting singers in Minneapolis together to sing on his new song on Global Warming. The finale of the song has a flood of guest singers including The Original Mark Edwards, Mark Mallman, Chris Perricelli (of Little Man), Ryan Smith and Kat Smith (of The Melismatics), Maria May and Allison (of The Owls), Josh and Jenny Richardson (of The Flavor Crystals & Luke's Angles), and Matt and Nate Stevens (of Mad Love, Wookie Foot, The New Primatives & the Beads). The song will be on John's new studio album due out this summer of 2007. |
