Who is P.O.S.? Born Stefon Leron Alexander, P.O.S. actually began as an angst inspired abbreviation. Back when he was a 13-year-old punk rocker, in a Minneapolis basement scene not exactly bustling with other African Americans, he was known as "Pissed Off Stef."

P.O.S. formed Doomtree, a record label / rap crew and self released Ipecac Neat. P.O.S.'s debut full-length album was released to overwhelming praise in 2004. After receiving 5 Minnesota Music Award nominations for Ipecac Neat P.O.S. was quickly signed by Rhymesayers Entertainment - it has been a fast paced ride ever since for Doomtree and P.O.S.

Over the years P.O.S. has stood for "Promise of Skills," "Product of Society," and "Promise of Stress." Bottom line P.O.S. stands for great punk infused hip-hop. Scratch that, P.O.S. stands for great music. Period.

P.O.S. recently won the Minnesota Music Awards Hip Hop artist of the year award for 2006 to prove it.

"After smashing onto the scene in 2004 with his debut album Ipecac Neat, P.O.S. feels Audition is his first real step. A first step after years of preparation, to say more with less and present smarter songs while blending redefined styles. With a unique host of guest appearances, innovative production and clever song writing the results are nothing short of amazing. Audition is still undoubtedly Hip Hop but overall more honest and personal than previous efforts, not to mention it's punker, louder and more abrasive."
